Entry 5: My attitude to study

Nowadays where to study or how to study is optional. One should only care about his own study and should improve his attitude to study. When it comes to me, I should maintain that my attitude towards studying always remained excellent, because from the very beginning of my childhood my parents started to encourage me to study hard and to put all of my efforts to study. Therefore I think children's manner and attitude to study will be motivated because of parents' attentiveness and kindness.
While comparing my attitute towards studying now and five years before, I noticed huge difference between my thoughts and understandings about what the studying is and the reason of studying. I used to consider studying as one of my hobbies and it was all about getting excellent marks, but till now it has become one of the most essential parts of my life. Maybe it's because I study at the university now, and the university life is quite different from the life in schools, or maybe there will be some changes in importance of studying over a particular period of time. For example, now we study in order to get good profession in the future. As it's very influential for our future, why we shouldn't study hard!?

Entry 4: Benefits and Dangers of the Internet

Benefits of the Internet on children

1)  It allows them to find rich, cultural and educational information readily. Sites like www.howstuffworks, www.cnn.com, www.discovery.com, www.pbs.org are great sites for both up-to-date news and educational content. Other subjects can include sports, weather, shopping, health, information on local schools and governments and what is happening around the world.

2)One of the greatest benefits your children will see is they can now communicate with their friends in every possible way and interact with them. Technologically, they will be able to “talk” with their peers in every conceivable way whether it is via email, instant messaging via their cell or computer or share pictures and ideas from social network sites. It gives them a feeling of belonging and helps them form who they are. Of course, there can be extremes to these cases and you will, consequently, need to monitor their usage.

3) Your children will be able to keep not only in touch with their friends online locally but they can communicate with relatives half-way around the world. They can keep in touch with their grandparents, cousins or friends from overseas and simultaneously talk and view with them live. Things like this were not possible even ten years ago.

4) Of course, children love to play their favorite computer game. This doesn’t necessarily the extreme, violent games. The benefit to your children could be the educational computer games. Many games are interactive and have great learning elements to them.

5) Access to up-to-date news and information, what is happening in the world and what events that are going on locally are important for your children’s development and learning. It gets them involved in the world and the Internet may answer many questions they have. Even they can learn new languages with the help of Internet.

6) They can collaborate on school projects, make new friends online as penpals, learn good netiquette rules and so much more.

Dangers of the Internet

No doubt, the Internet can be an extremely useful tool for young people. But instant messaging, chat rooms, emails and social networking sites can also bring trouble - from cyberbullying to more serious Internet dangers, including exposure to sexual predators.
On the Internet, cyberbullying takes various forms, says Netsmartz411.org, an online resource that educates parents about Internet safety. Cyberbullying includes sending hateful messages or even death threats to children, spreading lies about them online, making nasty comments on their social networking profiles, or creating a website to bash their looks or reputation.
One of the worst dangers of the Internet, for many parents, is the idea that pornography could pop up and surprise their children. But parents may not realize that some kids are going online to seek out web porn, too.
Camera phones, digital cameras and web cams are everywhere these days, and kids can be victims of their own inexperience with new technology. Many post pictures, videos or notes online that they later regret. "Think before you post, because once you do, it's going to be up there forever,"

These were some facts about benefits and dangers of the Internet. Summarizing all facts and ideas we can say that everyone can use internet even children, but it's parents' responsibility to check what their children doing or searching online.

Entry 3: The Language of Study

Some Advises about Study Language

-We can think faster than your teacher can speak. We must use this to our advantage by evaluating what is being said and trying to anticipate what will be said next and take good written notes about what our teacher says. While we can think faster than our teacher can speak, we cannot write faster than our teacher can speak. Taking notes requires us to make decisions about what to write, and we have to be an active listener to do this.

Managing Study Time

There are only so many hours in a day, a week, and a term. You cannot change the number of hours, but you can decide how to best use them. To be successful in school, collage or university you must carefully manage your study time.

Each evening before a school day, prepare a Daily Organizer for the next day. Place a √ next to each thing to do as you accomplish it. Here is what to do to prepare a Daily Organizer.
Enter the things to do for the coming day from your Weekly Schedule.
Enter the things that still need to be accomplished from your Daily Organizer from the previous day.
Review your class notes for the day just completed to see if you need to add any school activities.
Add any out-of-study activities in which you will be involved the next day.

Your Weekly Schedule should have more detail than your Term Calendar. Your Daily Organizer should have more detail than your Weekly Schedule. Using a Term Calendar, a Weekly Schedule, and a Daily Organizer will help you make the best use of your time.

Entry 1: My first impression&expectations

After entering the University which I really wanted to study, I began to preapare for IELTE program. Fortunately, I was matriculated to that program. I really like to study in that program, I feel great because everyone around me speaks English very well. I think that helps me to improve my English. IELTE program's subjects are quite interesting for me. Teachers are vey quilified and specialized.
I want to learn more and more in that program and I wish to graduate from IELTE program with "A+". I'll do my best to achieve my goal.
